Pan Global Resources (PGZ) has begun drilling at the Romana Deep volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) target at its Escacena Project.

Located in the Iberian Pyrite Belt in southern Spain, an initial program of four widely spaced drill holes is planned to provide the first test of the Romana Deep target.

Pan Global’s President and CEO, Tim Moody, called Romana Deep a compelling target that features a large HEM anomaly extending down-dip from Pan Global’s La Romana copper discovery.

“Some of the strongest copper mineralization at La Romana exhibits a similar heliborne electromagnetic (HEM) signature, and the copper mineralization remains open in the direction of the Romana Deep target. The first of four planned drill holes has commenced at Romana Deep. In addition, drilling continues to the north at the high-priority Zarcita target.”

The HEM anomaly coincides with the down-dip projection of the near-surface La Romana copper/tin mineralization.

Further processing and interpretation of the HEM survey has significantly expanded the previously identified Romana Deep target. The Romana Deep target is characterized by a large HEM resistivity low anomaly located down-dip from the company’s near-surface La Romana copper discovery.

The copper-tin mineralization at La Romana also coincides with HEM resistivity low anomalies, providing a further indicator of the potential for additional copper mineralization associated with the Romana Deep HEM target.

An initial four drill holes totalling 2,000 metres are planned to test some of the strongest resistivity low anomalies within the broader target area.

Pan Global Resources Inc. is actively engaged in base and precious metal exploration in southern Spain and is pursuing opportunities from exploration through to mine development.

Pan Global Resources Inc. (PGZ) is up 3.45 per cent, trading at $0.45 per share as of 09:50 am ET.
